In the Airmatic suspension, the damping for each individual wheel is done not by springs as usual, but by compressed air. The required amount of steam is quickly charged or discharged through the solenoid valves leading into a special damping structure. This system includes: front and rear steam shock absorbers; compressor; central compressed air cylinders; control box; Sensors notify the control box of the speed, load and steering angle.

Airmatic components are related to each other by gas lines and connected to the vehicle's electrical system through the multifunctional contact layer of the CAN (Controller Area Network) electronic data transmission system. Thanks to the "Wake-up" function, Airmatic is activated immediately upon opening the car door, to adjust the height of the vehicle and the elasticity of the shock absorbers before the car departs.

First, it is possible to increase or decrease the clearance of the vehicle: to raise the chassis, or lower it (for example, when parked to facilitate loading or attaching the trailer to the vehicle). Second, you can choose either Comfort or Sport mode for suspension operation. Comfort mode provides maximum comfort for the riders, while Sport enhances stability and safety because the car will have better grip.

The ability to adjust the damping stiffness of the individual wheels allows for the response to chassis tilt and vehicle speed when entering a turn, for the driver's turn angle and steering speed. Thus, when the car is running, the stiffness of the shock absorbers can be automatically changed so that the operating mechanism of the suspension is most suitable and effective for each travel situation. For example, when braking, the front wheel's swing will be stiffer than the rear, while accelerating the opposite. Thus, in both cases, the unpleasant phenomenon can be avoided - the body of the vehicle "pulls the trigger" vertically.

Airmatic automatically adapts to the load of the vehicle, changing the ground height to suit the travel conditions. Normal altitude is automatically established and maintained when vehicle speed reaches 80 km / h or higher. But if the speed sensors record that the speedometer has passed 140 km / h, the Airmatic automatically lowers the groundwork by 15 mm from the standard. The lower the center of gravity, the better the stability, while the aerodynamic properties of the car are improved to reduce fuel consumption. When the speed drops to 70 km / h, the ground height is returned to the original standard. On too bad roads, the undercarriage will be automatically raised 25 mm above the standard level.
